IIT Kharagpur launches new course

IIT Kharagpur will be the first in the country to open a School of Entrepreneurship, the first batch for which will be inducted latest by 2009. The institute is also investing Rs 396 crore in six new projects, including an increasing intake of students up to 24,000 to 30,000 in phases in the next 10 years. Faculty is also being recruited to cope with the influx of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. All IITs are increasing their intake capacity in line with the Central government's policy of upgrading these centres of excellence.
