UPSC

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will soon introduce a 'System of Online Application Processing' (SOAP) to avoid wastage of paper. UPSC Secretary Mr. S.P. Gaur said, "SOAP will be introduced before the next year's preliminary examination". The authorities are still deciding the mode of fee payment and the mode of submission of forms for the same. UPSC has also requested the Centre for the deletion of languages like Chinese, Spanish and German from the list of optional languages and instead add optional languages like Maithili, Bado and Santhali.
On the issue of negative marking in the preliminary examination held on May 20, Gaur said, "negative marking would depend on the number of options given in multiple choice questions. If a question has four options then one-third of a mark will be deducted whereas one-fourth of the marks will be deducted if the question has five options. (edu news)
