IIT-TOPPER 2008

Abhinav Garg, a student of DAV Senior Secondary School chandigarh, Sector 8, has got an all-India ranking of 3 and Archit Gupta, a student of DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 15 chandigarh is ranked fourth in the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE).Abhinav has scored 93.2 per cent marks in the Central Board of Secondary Education Class XII exams this year. Abhinav wants to get into IIT Mumbai.Archit has scored 86.6 per cent in the CBSE Class XII exams. He loves to play the guitar. Till Class X, Archit was a student of St John’s High School in Sector 26.Archit wants to study Computer Engineering from IIT Delhi.Tarundeep Singh from Mayapur delhi ranked 20th all over India and topped the National Capital Region.A student of Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nagar, Tarun has always been good at studies. In his Class XII boards he scored 89.2 per cent in the science stream. Tarun loves playing computer games and watching cricket on the TV.Father Charanjeet Singh, who works as an engineer with the National Thermal Power Corporation, is also an IIT alumnus.Mother Renu Kamra is a schoolteacher at a government school. Ankit Kumar eastern zone IIT-JEE topper who secured an all-India ranking of 38 — gave full credit of his success to his maternal grandparents, Dr R.S. Chaudhary and Gajmati Devi.His parents, who are doctors, reside in Daltonganj. Kaushal Lal Sahgal, an eye surgeon, and Pushpa Sahgal, a gynaecologist, are posted at the Sadar hospital in Latehar.Ankit completed his Class X from DAV, Daltonganj, with 96 per cent, enough to ensure a seat in Ranchi’s Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali. He cleared CBSE Class XII exam this year with 94 per cent marks.He had a special word of thanks for his teachers at Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali.
