manufacturing sector

IIT and IIM have joined hands to launch a postgraduate program for improving the skills of the executives working in the manufacturing sector. The postgraduate program has been designed by IIM Kolkata, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Japan's International Cooperation Agency. The program is named 'Executives in Manufacturing for Visionary Leadership' by the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC). The first academic session for this course will commence in the upcoming academic session and the classes will commence in August 2007. The eligibility for admission is a first class degree in any branch of engineering along with a minimum of five years experience in manufacturing and related sectors. The course fee would be Rs.500,000 and the duration of the course would be one year.
