19th International Biology Olympiad 2008

Mumbai is all set to host the 19th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) 2008 from July 13 to 20. The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) will organise the prestigious event with the support of the Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Human Resource Development on the premises of the HBCSE campus in Mankhurd. As many as 200 students form 55 countries will participate to vie for gold, silver and bronze medals besides some other awards.The Olympiad exam consists of a theory test and an experiment test, each for five hours duration.In the past, India has also played host to the International Mathematics Olympiad in 1996 International Chemistry Olympiad in 2001 and International Astronomy Olympiad in 2006.
