Naval officers will study one year less at NDA

Naval cadets' stint at the National Defence Academy is to pruned by one year but the future naval officers will have to undergo an engineering course to give exposure to network centric modes.The proposal for enhancement of academic curriculum at the naval academy at Ezhimalai in Kerala from the existing B.Sc to B.tech level has been approved by the cabinet committee on security (CCS).The new measure has been taken as the past decade has seen an unprecedented advancement in the naval warship technology with the induction of a large number of multi-role warships fitted with the state-of-art weapons and systems.
